How do you manage your thoughts?
 

With Meditation?
 

With Journaling?
 

With Movement?
 

I do all three but I have noticed that meditation and movement fall off in times of stress!
 

Do your routines fall off as “to-do list stress” takes priority?


In these different times, the planet is experiencing fear, overwhelm and burnout, and that is why finding a routine that is possible, manageable and non negotiable(rather than perfect) is essential!
 

In Kundalini yoga, we chant the teachers mantra before a class, “I am not a woman, I am not a man, I am not myself, I am not a human, I am a teacher.”


That mantra helps me let go of that idea of perfection that used to have me obsessing whilst teaching on what I did wrong, and be in service: to focus on the End Result (what I would love) and to come back to the present moment and have compassion (for myself and others).
 

I apply the same principle with managing stress, and my thoughts…
 

And creating the change I want to see in the world…
 

And enjoying life…

“I am not a woman, I am not a man, I am not myself, I am not a human, I am JOY/light/love/an excellent journaller/artist/dancer/________.”
 

What about you  ?
 

Are your thoughts and words reflective of what you would love? Do you allow for messy but done? Do you celebrate your wins? Do you plant seeds to be your own best friend and biggest fan?
 

Or do your thoughts sound more like;
“What if they leave me? I’m aging so quickly. I’m not good enough for that job. I’ll never make that much money. I am not loveable. Who am I to be happy when there is so much suffering in the world? I look ugly.” (etc etc we all know these thought patterns)
 

But here’s the truth  ,
 

Our cells are listening.
 

(And Mother nature & the universe too!)
 

And they believe our words and our thoughts!
 

Our body hears everything we think.
 

And our state of consciousness is informing every decision we make, every person we connect with, every work meeting we sit in.
 

We are manifesting (one way or another) whether we realise it or not.
 

So, let’s be intentional about the messages we are sending to ourselves AND to the Universe ?
